Stroke : Signs and Symptoms

Stroke is one of the leading causes of death in the United States. It is marked as a disease that affects the arteries leading to and within the brain. A stroke is an event that occurs within a blood vessel that carries oxygen and nutrients to the brain is either blocked by a clot or ruptures.

B – Balance – Is there a sudden loss of balance or coordination ?

E – Eyes – Is there a sudden onset of trouble seeing or blurred vision ?

F– Face – Is one or both side of the face drooping?

A– Arms – Does one arm drift downwards? Is there numbness or weakness ?

S– Speech – Is there an onset of slurred speech?

T– Time – Request medical help immediately. Urgently call 911
